The new video from this up-and-coming Latin star, called “Incondicional,” was post-produced at Upstairs, Miami’s premiere post facility that also color-corrected the video and produced the 2D video effects. The clip was selected by Royce to promote his second album, following the success of his first.
Just like in the advertising world, where we often learn to run before we can learn to walk, speed is sometimes the opposite of quality, so it’s not too often that we find both. Prince Royce’s new music video reflects the value of this rare combination. Directed by Pablo Croce with post-production by Upstairs, “Incondicional” is the warhorse for an artist whose meteoric rise to the top of the charts is a welcome surprise to many. “The main challenge was to take this artistic concept and execute it in a very short time. An integrated team like the one at Upstairs, is the key to this kind of project because they put together a real locomotive that pushed the limits of speed without sacrificing the quality. Everything moved very efficiently and was flawlessly executed,” commented Croce, who is well recognized for his international award-winning work on “Labios Compartidos,” which he directed for the Mexican group Maná.
“Incondicional” was selected by Royce to promote “Phase I,I, his second effort, after the resounding success of his self-named debut album “Prince Royce.” The singer-author wanted to have the music video ready for its worldwide debut on the same date as the Billboard Awards for Latin Music that were held on April 26th in Miami and where Royce, along with Don Omar, were big winners. Prince Royce captured no less than 8 awards at the gala. “'Incondicional' is a Bachata with Mariachi. I came up with the concept after I recorded ‘El Verdadero Amor Perdona’ with Maná in Mexico and realized that the fans really enjoyed the format. We recorded the music video in the center of Mexico City with Ariadne Díaz, a talented, young actress. I really think the video is super cool. It is a very romantic song that respects the essence of the Bachata,” details the young artist who in his short career (which began in 2010), has already accumulated 12 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 7 “Premios Lo Nuestro,” 2 Grammy nominations and 4 “Premios Juventud.”
In addition to post-production, Upstairs designed and executed the 2D animation and visual effects and color-corrected the footage for “Incondicional.” All of this in record time. “It’s not a matter of magic.” comments Upstairs’ Miami President Anabella Sosa. “The secret lies in great pre-production. The project was executed in 7 days, but we were organizing the logistics long before that. The goal was to have everything ready and every step double-checked when the material arrived. Good communication and coordination between Director Pablo Croce was also crucial to the success of the project,” explained Sosa.
“Inconditional” has received the praise of the media and the approval of the fans, who have placed “Phase II” in second place on the Billboard charts. Everything is moving fast for this talented artist and Upstairs is there to make it happen.
