The recently concluded New Myanmar Investment Summit held in Yangon last June, a part of CMT’s highly successful ‘Invest Myanmar 2012 Series’, welcomed various key Myanmar officials and over 300 delegates from 20 countries. An Official Opening Speech delivered by His Excellency Dr. Kan Zaw, Deputy Minister, Ministry of National Planning & Economic Development declared the Summit open. That proceeded on to presentations by top officials from Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Mines, who shed light on the development of heavy industry, assessed the latest developments in oil & gas investments, explored the [investment opportunity in the mining sector, and reviewed the current mining activities.
The 2 day event, a first summit to offer an opportunity to meet face-to-face with ministry officials and local companies to discuss partnerships and joint ventures with foreign companies, has proven to be such a success that CMT is now planning the [2nd Myanmar Invest & Finance Summit, to take place from 16-18 October in Yangon.
