According to court documents, on June 8th, 2012, California resident, Sandra Hurtado, filed a Zimmer NexGen Knee Lawsuit in California Northern District Court (case no. 3:2012cv02975) alleging she suffered severe complications from Zimmer’s NexGen Knee GSF LPS-Flex implant. The NexGen Knee is manufactured by Zimmer Holdings a medical device manufacturer specializing in orthopedic implants. Hurtado claims she was implanted the NexGen GSF LPS-Flex in June 2008. Soon after implantation the Simmer NexGen Knee started to loosen and in 2011 she had to undergo a second Zimmer knee implant revision surgery.

This new lawsuit is going to be transferred to the Zimmer NexGen knee failure multidistrict litigation (MDL No. 2272) currently ongoing in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
