Things moved at a rate of speed that I could not keep up with. I was only able to live in the present. I had no visions of my future at that point.

“I know that fighting cancer is the hardest thing I have ever done. Cancer has tested my courage and faith to their limits; however, time and again I have been shown that God has never left me.” With these words, author Patsy Wilder launches into a thought-provoking and immensely intimate account of overcoming her cancer diagnosis and how she rediscovered God’s everlasting grace.

In her new memoir “My Mountain Has a Name” (published by AuthorHouse), Wilder, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, leaves no stone unturned as she chronicles her life-altering ordeal.

“Things moved at a rate of speed that I could not keep up with,” she recalls. “I was only able to live in the present. I had no visions of my future at that point.”

There is both humor and heartbreak in Wilder’s story. “There’s the realization that life does not stop,” remarks Wilder.

Wilder has already earned a fan following and her memoir has struck a chord in the hearts of many.

“This inspirational book offers courage to people going through life altering circumstances. It gives hope and provides humor in devastating life experiences.”
—Deborah Roman, reader

“Not only will the cancer patient learn from Patsy’s journey, but also the families and friends of the cancer patient can learn a wealth of information that they will never hear from their health professional.”
—Linda Cowden, RN

“This is an honest, open story of surviving one of life’s greatest challenges—CANCER. Patsy learned to take life as it was meant to be lived, one day at a time and valued each one of those days.”
—Sue Sellers, friend

In the end, Wilder hopes her book shows readers that a healthy funny bone and a good amount of faith can go a long way. “While circumstances may take your breath away,” says Wilder, “you can always need to stop and take a deep breath and laugh. Laughter can almost always be found in any situation and God can pick up the pieces and put them back together again.”
