ECI Telecom Deploys LetMobile to Secure “Bring Your Own Device” Program

ECI chose LetMobile to power their “Bring Your Own Device” initiative, and enable their employees to securely access corporate mail, calendar and contacts from personal mobile devices.

Given the proliferation of smart phones, ECI wanted to meet employees’ demands to access corporate mail from their personal devices. To make this a reality, ECI needed to address security first and foremost: corporate data must not be placed at risk in the personal mobile environment. In addition, as a global company, ECI needed a solution that would be easy and cost-effective to deploy to a distributed workforce using a large variety of devices and subject to a number of different regulations. Finally, ECI wanted a solution that users would willingly accept, and that would enable them to demonstrate compliance. While ECI uses an MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution for some of their corporate devices, they believed that full-scale MDM was too expensive and intrusive for a BYOD initiative.

ECI evaluated a number of solutions and found that LetMobile Secure Mobile E-mail best met their requirements for security and compliance, low total cost of ownership, and positive user experience. The company rolled out a pilot program in November 2011, and moved into deployment in December. Today, hundreds of ECI employees are using LetMobile to securely access their corporate mail from their personal iPhone, iPad, Android and other mobile devices.
