New York, NY (PRWEB) August 02, 2012
Mylaensys has just announced the launch of an innovative service called ParknCloud that allows consumers to pay for parking electronically with a smartphone using the latest Geoparking™ technology.
The ParknCloud electronic parking payment service is sure to appeal to anyone who has ever searched for loose change at a parking meter, been waiting in line at a parking kiosk or has needed to leave a restaurant during a meal in order to avoid a parking fine.
The parking service is accessed through the mobile browser with the look and feel of an App and user-friendly button icons and screens allow for quick and easy operation. Thanks to Geoparking™ technology the user is able to identify where the parking service is available, obtain the parking rate, purchase parking time and extend an active parking session – all at the touch of a button. Should the user return to their vehicle before parking time expires, credits are debited only for the actual time used, based on a “Pay As You Go” fashion. A handy text reminder feature can be activated which sends a message 15 minutes before the parking time expires, so that parking can be extended on the fly.
To start using the service a simple account registration is required and the purchase of electronic parking credits. Unlike many other services that are paid for via a mobile device, ParknCloud does not go through the usual payment networks so no unpleasant transaction fees are applied. Registration is free and the user is charged just a nominal amount when purchasing parking credits.
Mylaensys is planning to initially roll out the ParknCloud service on the West Coast from September 2012 but looks forward to extending it to other parts of the US shortly thereafter.
“A common objective across Municipalities is to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and improve the services they offer. ParknCloud is the perfect solution to deliver all of these. This service is truly quick and efficient. Paying for parking will never be the same again!” said Dina Douglas, Account Manager, San Diego area.
This service is expected to be well received by Municipalities. Apart from the obvious improved parking experience for their customers, ParknCloud provides an easy and affordable opportunity to collect parking fees electronically, as an alternative to parking meters and kiosks.
The new electronic parking service offers many opportunities to increase revenue and reduce costs. Municipalities will gain a better understanding of their customers and their parking habits therefore being able to cater to those needs and improve operational efficiencies at the same time.
Quick and easy to implement, ParknCloud is a Cloud Computing solution delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) and is hosted on the Google Cloud Infrastructure. This means that there is no high software investment required or ongoing maintenance costs for Municipalities. It also offers the flexibility to scale the service in line with demand. The infrastructure behind ParknCloud provides a high level of security, reliability and supports millions of users.
A truly innovative solution and a win win for Municipalities and end users alike.
A prelaunch Virtual Trusted Tester Program, which gives individuals the chance to be one of the first to sample ParknCloud, is already up and running in various major US cities. Those interested in participating should visit: http://www.parkncloud.com/contact
