BallenIsles in Palm Beach Gardens, Waterfront Properties and Club Communities’ real-estate partner, served as the ideal site for inaugurating the 2012 United States Tennis Association’s Florida Adult League Regional Championships.

The tournament, which took place in July, involved winners from local league teams battling it out on BallenIsles’ Har-Tru tennis courts in the southeast regionals for advancement to the August Sectional Championships. Trish Faulkner, director of tennis at the premier country club, served as event host.

“Trish Faulkner, tennis director, had the facilities in excellent condition for the event,” said Clark Higgs, tournament director. “Trish also made sure that the players had access to an air-conditioned players’ lounge so they could rest before or after matches out of the sun, heat and humidity. Ice, water and restrooms were always within a short walk from all of the courts for this very hot and humid tournament.”

Two days of the tournament saw early morning rainstorms that sopped the courts and required maintenance and clean-up.

“Not only was BallenIsles a beautiful site for players and spectators alike, but Trish and her staff were there all day each day to ensure that any of the players’ needs were met,” Higgs said. “On both Friday and Sunday, we had lots of rain before play was scheduled to start at 8 a.m. When we arrived at 7 a.m., Trish and several staff members were onsite preparing, or getting ready to begin preparing, the courts for play. Tim [Balsley] and Diane [Barwick] arrived at the site before 6 a.m. to get the courts in playable condition.”
