Romance heats up in the summer when lovers turn vacations into “Playcations.”

Sun, sand, sightseeing…and sex. In a recent survey, nearly 75 percent of U.S. adults said sex is better while on vacation. The survey results from, a romantic social network, are no surprise to Jennifer Downey, president of Ambiance, the Store for Lovers.

“When couples are on vacation, they escape the stresses of home and work and focus on having a good time together,” says Downey. “Vacations are a perfect time to not only relax, but ramp up the romance and strengthen relationships.”

While a trip to the beach topped the list of most romantic vacations for survey respondents, other destinations lead to sizzling sex, too. These include staying at a bed-and-breakfast and camping under the stars. “We encourage couples to turn any vacation into a Playcation,” says Downey. “Turn off your cell phones and iPads, and turn on your lover! Make it a vacation to remember.”
