Championing the Individual Needs of Students: Best Selling Author Stephen Peters Partners with American Reading Company

Peters, best-selling author and one of the nation’s most sought-after motivational speakers, has partnered with American Reading Company.

Stephen Peters, best-selling author and one of the nation’s most sought-after motivational speakers, has partnered with American Reading Company, a leading educational solutions provider, to champion individual student needs using the company’s ACTION 100 Response to Intervention (RtI) model that aggressively transforms school cultures for sustained student achievement.

The partnership was established as a result of strategies that both Peters and American Reading Company employ to meet individual student needs and shape effective educational programs. Peters attended American Reading Company’s day-long conference “What Does It Take to Educate Black and Latino Boys?” in May 2012 and was impressed by the company’s hallmark formative assessment conferencing technique, which is the bedrock for the teacher-child relationship in classrooms using ACTION 100.

Peters’ best-selling book Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me? put him in the national spotlight, including an appearance on Oprah. His three-step process of effective teaching and learning—Capture, Inspire, Teach—aligns with American Reading Company’s ACTION 100 school transformation model, which is built on the Common Core State Standards and is already used in more than 8,000 classrooms nationwide.
