New support for BASIC and C#, combined with existing support FORTRAN, COBOL, C, C++ and Java, makes NXTera 6.2 the most interoperable high performance middleware available anywhere. NXTera 6.2 makes it possible for business logic written in a wide variety of languages to easily inter-operate with each other and contemporary SOA/REST-based Web services.

eCube Systems, a leading provider of middleware modernization, integration and management solutions, announced the release of NXTera™ 6.2 High Performance RPC Middleware. NXTera 6.2 includes restructured NAT support for the JAVA broker, updated JDBC database access, new tools for FORTRAN, BASIC and C# language integration and enhancements to its generation of C# and JAVA SOA/REST-based Web service interfaces for legacy business logic.

“Our on going commitment to improving and continuing the evolution of the Borland Entera middleware technology is clearly on display in NXTera 6.2, our latest NXTera update”, says Kevin Barnes President and CEO of eCube Systems. “Simplifying the integration between legacy languages and new distributed technologies like .NET and other SOA technologies allows us to help companies save money and create new value from existing IT investments.”

NXTera 6.2 follows the new features at 6.0 and 6.1 with improvements to key Java based utilities designed to simplify legacy to contemporary integration projects. These updates include the Web services debugger, wsdebug; an automated IDL generation tool, defgen; and support for IBM COBOL, Microsoft C#, and FORTRAN in the rpcmake IDL compiler for native stub generation. NXTera 6.2 extends the support for the integration of HP BASIC business logic with customized stubs and implementation patterns for BASIC language application integration.

Every new release of NXTera expands its capabilities, adds new features and improves tooling. A highlight in this release are improvements to internals of the NXTmake tool that generates C#, Visual Basic.NET, Java, or Web services connectors for C, COBOL, FORTRAN and BASIC business logic. The generated code can be used in Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse to create service interfaces to legacy business logic for use in enterprise, Web and mobile applications.

NXTera 6.2 server runs on and is certified for the latest versions of: Linux, Windows 2008, zOS (zLinux,) Solaris, AIX 6.2, HP-UX, and HP OpenVMS. Additionally, NXTera supports both the Microsoft , IBM and Apache AXIS2 Web services application stacks.
