DTC Perspectives, Inc., the leading conference, training and publishing company for the consumer marketing of pharmaceutical and healthcare products, is proud to announce its fifth annual class of inductees into the DTC Hall of Fame. The 2012 Class will be honored live at an induction ceremony at the Renaissance in Washington, DC, as part of the DTC Perspectives’ eDTC Revolution Conference. (Separate tickets are also available.) This year’s inductees are:

  • Deborah Dick-Rath, CEO & Founder, Epic Proportions LLC
  • Stu Klein, Healthcare Practice Lead, Interpublic
  • Don Lowy, President & Founder, Donald Lowy Consulting
  • Sheri Stump, Senior Marketing Director, Pediatric ADHD, Behavioral Health Business Unit, Shire

DTC Perspectives takes great pleasure in honoring these four outstanding executives as members of the 2012 DTC Hall of Fame class for their significant achievements in advancing patient communications (please visit http://www.dtcperspectives.com for full bios):

Deborah Dick-Rath not only led the development of many successful integrated DTC campaigns in a number of therapeutic categories during an eight-year tenure with Novartis, she also created an award-winning innovative DTC advertising platform for the company. Furthermore, she also represented Novartis on PhRMA’s DTC Guidance committee. Earlier in her career, which spans more than 25 years, she co-founded one of the first DTC-focused agencies, The Quantum Group, at the dawn of DTC. Most recently, she established Epic Proportions to help brands and agencies find their optimal, integrated media mix.

Stu Klein also worked at The Quantum Group, having served as President at the revolutionary agency for several years. There he led the development of some of the more memorable DTC campaigns of this era for brands such as Claritin, Clarinex, Levitra, NuvaRing, and Crestor. Stu has had the opportunity to develop DTC and professional communications for more than 50 brands across nearly 20 different therapeutic areas, as well as present to OPDP twice, in his 11 years with the pharmaceutical industry. In his current role, he manages IPG’s pharma relationships.

Don Lowy helped execute one of the earliest DTC campaigns, Habitrol. With more than three decades as a leader in brand building, Don was an early pioneer in internet marketing, establishing Schering-Plough Digital University as well as developing the company’s fully-integrated consumer communications for Nasonex, Zetia, Levitra, Vytorin and NuvaRing. During his time at Pharmacia, he managed DTC for Ambien, Pletal, Mirapex and Xalatan with a focus on patient education CRM. He presently owns a consulting firm, helping small to mid-sized brands unlock their potential to accelerate brand growth.

Sheri Stump has worked in a number of therapeutic areas during her 25 years of healthcare industry experience, including women’s health, pain, cardiovascular, oncology, respiratory and CNS. She has held various marketing positions with increasing responsibility during her nine years at AstraZeneca, including the highly successful DTC programs for Crestor, as well as the development of the corporate strategy and organizational structure for multicultural marketing at the pharmaceutical company. Currently, she develops and executes the overall, integrated marketing strategy for both the consumer and professional segments of Vyvanse and Intuniv at Shire.

The DTC Hall of Fame is designed to honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the advancement of direct-to-consumer marketing. Industry-wide nominations are collected and then reviewed by the DTC Perspectives’ Advisory Board, a select group of industry experts who serve as counsel. Together with the DTC Perspectives’ staff, the final four inductees are selected.

“DTC marketing has been practiced successfully for more than a decade and over this time it has grown to become a very important component of the pharmaceutical industry’s success,” said Bob Ehrlich, CEO of DTC Perspectives. “It is important to recognize those individuals who have shaped DTC advertising and significantly contributed to the communication of important healthcare information directly to patients.”

Join us as we celebrate these inductees during a special ceremony on September 13th, a part of the DTC Perspectives’ fall conference, eDTC Revolution: Marketing to the Digital Consumer (held September 13-14, 2012 at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington, DC). The DTC Hall of Fame festivities include a cocktail party followed by a formal induction ceremony with video tributes and live introductions from industry leaders, as well as an address by the Hall of Fame inductees.

The eDTC Revolution Conference is a “must-attend” event for pharmaceutical marketers, agency executives, media partners, market researchers, and solution providers looking to further advance patient communications.
