San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 01, 2012

Today MoPub, the world’s largest ad server for smartphone app publishers, is announcing their latest executive team hire, Herman Yang, as Vice President of Product. Yang brings with him years of experience in mobile ad product management, startup investments, and entrepreneurship.

In addition to AdMob, Yang has had a breadth of experience in technology, ranging from fast-growth startups to venture capital, including Yahoo!, Focus Ventures, and Guidewire. Yang holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard Business School. At MoPub, Yang will lead product development and help the company scale its platform with new offerings.

"We are thrilled to have Herman join us as VP of Product,” Jim Payne, MoPub’s CEO and founder, says. “I worked closely with Herman back at AdMob. He’s a unique individual who brings intellectual firepower, product vision and strong execution to the table. We couldn't be happier to have him here to take the MoPub ad server and in particular, MoPub Marketplace, to the next level for our publishers."

Yang’s hire is indicative of the tremendous growth MoPub has seen as a company overall. In terms of ad impressions, the company is experiencing year-over-year growth of 1400 percent, with one billion ad impressions in July 2011, compared to 15 billion this past month. The number of MoPub’s publisher clientele has also skyrocketed, with a year-over-year growth of 2400 percent, going from 250 publishers in 2011 to 6000 currently.

"When Jim and I worked together at AdMob, mobile advertising was really just getting started,” Yang says. “With the recent hockey stick-like growth in mobile, it's even more exciting now to help define that future at MoPub, where we're uniquely positioned to create the best ad server and exchange for smartphone app publishers. Between the rockstar team and A-list clients, I'm excited to be here and push our product to the next level."
