Each July 4th RACE announces its new additions to the RACE Leadership team. These new leaders are selected based on their ability to drive revolutionary change and satisfy RACE’s mission of Speed, Agility and Flawless Execution(SM). This year, RACE welcomed Mr. Kirk M. Nicholas and Dr. Edward G. Oestreicher to The Executive Leadership Team. Both Mr. Nicholas and Dr. Oestreicher joined RACE from the Department of Defense where they drove significant improvements across the government sector.

Mr. Kirk M. Nicholas joined RACE from the Army’s Office of Business Transformation (OBT) where he served as the Director, Office of Process Improvement. In his previous role as Director of the Navy’s Process Improvement program, he drove teams establishing the first Department of Defense-wide standard for Process Improvement. Before his departure from the Army, their programs reported savings in excess of $50 billion. Mr. Nicholas will put this experience to work serving as the President of RACE’s Leadership and Innovation Institute. From this role, and supported by the 90+ RACE Partner organizations, Mr. Nicholas will lead the deployment of new models for leadership excellence and innovation.

Dr. Edward G. Oestreicher joined RACE from the US Navy where he served as Chief of Administration and Training. Throughout his career, Dr. Oestreicher served in roles which fostered the development of personnel, process improvement and the development of cutting-edge educational institutions. Dr. Oestreicher will now apply those valuable skills as the President of RACE’s University. This role will be responsible for developing and driving the next generation of advanced learning environments – over 28,000 courses spanning 1,500 competencies.

Together, with the assistance of the RACE Partners, Mr. Nicholas and Dr. Oestreicher will build the tools and methodologies needed for RACE to drive the next generation of revolutionary change.
