COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (PRWEB) August 01, 2012

During the Waldo Canyon Fire, Tucanos Brazilian Grill donated $30,000 in money, food and services, and on July 31, presented a giant $18,020 check to the Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado at the Sky Sox baseball game against the Fresno Grizzlies. Tucanos Brazilian Grill rallied the community to raise $9,010 for the selected non-profit with a generous $9,010 match.

On Sunday, July 1, Tucanos Brazilian Grill opened its doors on an off day to nourish hundreds of evacuees with a complimentary exhibition-style meal: prepared in the Brazilian tradition of grilling (churrasco) skewers of specially seasoned or marinated meat, vegetables and fresh pineapple sliced directly to the guest’s plate. In addition, the Salad Festival, a dessert buffet and beverages were provided. At that special lunch, Tucanos received its first $500 donation, which immediately doubled to $1,000, and within a week, $18,020 was raised.

"Care and Share thanks Tucanos Brazilian Grill for their generosity and all of the individuals and groups who gave...and are still giving...to help those affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire," said Stacy Poore, Care and Share’s chief development officer. "We are truly grateful for the outpouring of support and extremely proud to be a part of this incredible community."
