With the publication of her new novel “Twice as Deadly: The Deadlies: Book Two” (published by iUniverse), author A.C. Miller returns to the world of the Deadlies from her first novel.
The Deadlies, protectors of humanity, feed off sins, consuming the sins in an effort to remove some of the negativity that causes humans to commit crimes against each other. This book is the continuation of the first book’s hunt for rogue vampires. Bane, who is Vanity as well as Wrath’s twin, narrates this story. The seven Graces have to move in with the Deadlies temporarily, which causes trouble for Bane as he finds himself attracted to both of the Grace sisters.
An excerpt from “Twice as Deadly”:
“Swamp lived in an old shack in the middle of (surprise, surprise) a swamp. It was a few miles out of Blackridge in a heavily wooded area. We parked the SUV on the side of the road and hoofed it back to Swamp’s place. It took us a few minutes and a couple of wrong turns to find it. The driveway was so overgrown with weeds that we passed it a few times. By the time we reached the house, we were all feeling more than a bit cranky.
Dev took one look at the tiny grey-board shack and grimaced. He slapped at a mosquito on his arm. ‘Why can’t they ever live in a mansion?’”
Miller knows her book has unique appeal, even in a genre overrun with Twilight and Hunger Games series. “The books have a humorous twist which is sometimes lacking in books of this genre,” she says. “This isn’t a book about vampires or werewolves.”
