Younger Next Year Aspen Immersion Week in September Drawing Heavily on the New Thinner This Year Book, Due out Next December

Participants go through a life-changing week of exercise, learning, sane (but exquisite) eating and drinking and get reoriented and re-remotivated for the next year.

“We give specific information to help you lose weight effectively, get fit, and maximize your time exercising. Exercise is Medicine and we have a prescription for you with Younger and Thinner Next Year.”

The enormously successful Younger Next Year Aspen Club Immersion weeks are coming back to Aspen this September. But with a profound difference. The week will be heavily based on the new YNY book, THINNER THIS YEAR, which authors Chris Crowley and Professor Jennifer Sacheck, Ph.D. of Tufts are currently completing.

The new book is the “how to” book of the Revolution in Aging. Younger Next Year taught overall strategy. Thinner This Year teaches tactics. It shows people how to live the Younger Next Year/Thinner Next Year life, at the tactical, real-world level. Lots of deadly-serious, science-based detail about nutrition and weight management. Lots of detailed information about how the human body works when a person eats right and how the body goes haywire when a person eats wrong. Highly motivational, highly detailed advice which is rigorously free of the gimmicks, nonsense and false promises that are common in conventional diet books.

In the same vein, there is rock-solid, cutting edge advice about aerobics and strength training exercises, which were developed at The Aspen Club. As Crowley likes to say, “The Aspen Club has been the Engine Room for the much of the YNY/TTY Revolution.” In fact, Crowley developed the exercise part of the new book at The Aspen Club, with Bill Fabrocini, P.T., OCS and Riggs Klika, Ph.D. FACSM. The basic learning was developed here by them; the illustrations for the book will be created here and much of the text was first created by Fabrocini and Klika. And all three of them, will be leading the Immersion Week.

This new week will be a “preview-showcase” for - and will be closely based - on the new book and the new learning, both in terms of exercise and nutrition. The immersion weeks take place at The Aspen Club & Spa primarily, and are based Younger and Thinner, which both explore the science of aging and how to actually turn back your biological clock through diet and exercise. The immersion week includes exercise programs and instruction, dietary advice, evaluations, lectures, and outdoor activities in beautiful Aspen, CO. The originator and co-author of both books, Chris Crowley, is here the entire week, motivating and participating in activities, giving talks and keeping the participants on track.

Participants in the immersion weeks may choose to stay at their own accommodations or at The Gant, Aspen’s finest condominium hotel. As part of the program, all meals will be provided at a selection of the best restaurants in town (including Montagna at the Little Nell, Jimmy’s and NuTrition Café at The Aspen Club.) The meals are tailored to the YOUNGER/THINNER lifestyle and the whole experience is an “instruction” on how to eat and drink well without sacrificing good taste.

Participants will learn state of the art fitness instruction from the professionals who helped to write the new book, including Riggs J. Klika and Bill Fabrocini. Each participant will have a series of assessments and the results will be used to create an individualized home based exercise program.

“The Immersion Weeks are designed to help you become a more active, healthy, and connected individual,” said Klika. “We give specific information to help you lose weight effectively, get fit, and maximize your time exercising. Exercise is Medicine and we have a prescription for you with Younger and Thinner Next Year.”

Everything takes place in one of the most beautiful settings in the world—the mountains of Aspen, Colorado—and participants will enjoy the outdoors through hikes and outdoor classes.

The cost, including six nights at The Gant and all but one meal (the free night): $4,500 per person ($8,000 per couple) and $3,500 for locals with no lodging costs. In order to keep the instruction personal, space is extremely limited. Deadline to sign up for the September session (23rd-29th) is Sept. 1st. To see a video highlighting the week, click here:
