Car wrecks, 18 wheeler accidents, slip and falls and medical malpractice claims can all encompass serious ailments and injuries that require the aid of experts within the medical field in addition to the advocacy of a lawyer.
At The Carlson Law Firm, having access to other professionals, who are authorities in their field, goes beyond a number in a rolodex. Instead, the personal injury law firm, headquartered in Central Texas and serving clients nationwide, employs health care professionals on staff, adding to the invaluable resources accessed by injured clients.
The medical malpractice and personal injury law firm in Texas recently announced the addition of Registered Nurse, Russell Almon, a medical professional with more than 20 years of nursing experience.
“Having a talent, like Russell, right on staff is an invaluable resource to our firm and our personal injury clients,” Carlson Law Firm Managing Partner, Craig Carlson said. “Because some medical malpractice and personal injury cases can be so complicated, having immediate access to a registered nurse really helps improve our efficiency and expertise clients receive from our firm.”
While seasoned personal injury lawyers may be very familiar with medical terms and circumstances, not all medical malpractice and injury situations are created equal, making it necessary to consult with medical staff and nurses.
“Quality health care has always been so important to me,” noted Almon. “It’s exciting for me to be able to use what I’ve learned in the medical community throughout the years to help people in a different way.”
Almon’s experience is not a run-of-the-mill nursing career. Instead, his extensive education sent him across the globe and throughout various medical departments, giving him perspective that goes beyond medical knowledge.
A Texas native, Almon provided care in a surgical ICU, specialized in heart patient recovery, worked in occupational injury treatment and spent time in emergency departments as well as the ICU before he traveled to Asia as an international staff missionary. There, Almon spent 6 years serving people in China and South Korea. He also spent time in North Korea, working as a clinic manager for a rural health clinic for two years before returning to Texas as an emergency and ICU nurse and nurse manager.
“Russell’s desire and longtime efforts to help people really fits perfectly with our firm’s mission,” said Carlson. “He’s spent his career serving others, which is definitely in line with what we strive to accomplish for our clients at The Carlson Law Firm.”
