Eating a Chick-Fil-A sandwich is now more than just eating. As commented by GreenBeanBuddy.com, it has now become a political statement. And that comment the website made after a report from foxnews.com came out stating that the food chain gained supporters and protesters on its declared Appreciation Day.
Based on the report, people flocked the food-chain's outlets across the country to show their support on its CEO Dan Cathy's firm stand on traditional marriage. And as a separate report from cbsnews.com said, a number of personalities in the politics even tweeted their taste of the chicken sandwich. However, apart from that, the foxnews report said that others lined-up for the company's meal to express their support mainly for the freedom of speech.
Nonetheless, Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day brought out not just supporters but also protesters. Following the coined appreciation day for the food company, the report shared that backers of same sex-marriage plans to hold a public display of affection to each other at the fast-food chain on Friday.
Here's an excerpt from the post Chick-Fil-A Gained Support by GreenBeanBuddy.com.
“Gobbling up a chicken sandwich is now more than just an act of filling up your empty stomach, especially if it's from Chick-Fil-A. Today, it has become a political statement. Or, at least in more subtle terms, it has become a way to express your opinion about same-sex marriage. And as a Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day was held yesterday, many lined-up to show their agreement with the food company's firm support on marriage between just a man and a woman.
Chick-Fil-A, a favorite food-chain of many Americans for its chicken sandwich and cross-cut fries, has been a target of gay-marriage supporters since two weeks ago. The protest against it started when its CEO Dan Cathy revealed its negative stand about same-sex marriage in a publication of the Baptist Press.”
According to the news website GreenBeanBuddy.com, there is no denying that the issue on same-sex marriage is heating up. It said that the protests and counter-protests from both sides prove just that. However, the website asserted that the ferocious reactions of gay-marriage supporters to Chick-Fil-A CEO's statement is a bit overboard. After all, it stated that everybody is entitled to his own opinion.
