A young lawyer gets more than he bargained for after becoming entangled in the web of a vicious motorcycle gang who want him to act as their puppet in “tHRe3” (published by iUniverse), the new thriller by T.J. Connor.
Trey Jackson, Jr. is a successful trial attorney living in Asheville, N. C. He lives a charmed life as a Yale graduate, married to the girl of his dreams, Tara, with a son on the way. His idyllic life is irrevocably changed after he – reluctantly – gives legal advice to a member of the Dreadnaughts, a violent biker gang headquartered in the mountains of North Carolina.
Trey’s involvement with the Dreadnaughts, who have chosen him to be their attorney whether he likes it or not, brings a series of trials and tribulations for the young lawyer as he furiously fights to get his life and freedom back.
An excerpt from “tHRe3”:
“Inside the house, the atmosphere was surreal, with men and women alike chugging Jack Daniels and smoke wafting through the air. On the mantle over the fireplace sat two large glass jars. One contained Skinny’s hand floating in formaldehyde, the other a head. The head belonged to an investigator who had been poking his nose in the wrong place. These decorations were reminders to all not to betray or mess with the brotherhood.
The disciples were upstairs engaged in conversation with a young trial attorney named Trey Jackson Jr. He was the attorney whom Jimmy had selected to be the gang’s legal counsel. Jimmy was not happy with Trey’s responses to his questions. He ordered the three cowboys in the room to take him to the van behind the farmhouse.”
Based on the stories Conner heard from his Uncle Toby, a former Hell’s Angel, and the author’s own real-life experiences as a trial attorney himself, “tHRe3” draws readers in with a story filled with action, suspense and relatable characters.
