Four teenagers embark on an adventure outside this realm in “The Third Side: A Double Sided Teen Novel” (published by AuthorHouse), the new young adult fantasy fiction by Natalie and Melissa Black.

In this sequel to 2010’s “Double Sided,” readers once again join teenagers Vanessa, Alexandria, Dylan and Eric. The group is forcefully kidnapped from their quiet Colorado community and thrust into an alternate world where evil rushes at them from all directions.

With the help of unforeseen alliances, the clock races down upon the four friends as they battle against fate, betrayal and treachery to save a crumbling kingdom and force justice upon those responsible for its destruction. Twisted love, shaky destinies and the ever-looming fear of death all stay in the way of a safe return home. Will they make it back to this world alive?

Natalie and Melissa take inspiration from a variety of genres. The Narnia Chronicles gave them the idea for creating an alternate dimension, and the action, adventure and romance are reminiscent of recent bestsellers like “ The Hunger Games” and “Twilight.” “So in a way, this topic came from nowhere, and everywhere,” the authors note.

They attend school in Katy, Texas, and are also the authors of “Double Sided: A Teen Novel.”
