Dana Point, Calif. (PRWEB) August 04, 2012
Canines and companions are invited for tricks and treats in celebration of Howl-O-Ween on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. This seasonal Yappy Hour celebration is a chance for pups to strut their stuff in their favorite costume and enjoy lapping up water in their favorite flavors – Beastly Bacon, Creepy Chicken, Frightful Cheese, Ghoulish Beef and Ghostly Liver. Dog parents can relax with a selection of wines from Mutt Lynch Winery including Unleashed Chardonnay, Merlot Over and Play Dead, and Chateau d’Og Cabernet Sauvignon.
A panel of judges will determine which canine will take home the prize in the costume categories of Scariest, Funniest, Most Glamorous and, of course, Best in Show. First place prize in each category is a hand-painted dog bowl by Debby Carman of Faux Paws Productions. Best in Show will also receive a Posh Pooch experience which includes a two-night stay at the resort, plush doggie bed, chew toy, doggie menu, vista view dog walking trail map, and dog waste bags. Cost to enter the costume contest is $10 per canine.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, serving the residents of Laguna by providing temporary care for lost, stray and sick or injured animals rescued by Animal Services Officers within the city limits. At any one time, the facility houses dogs, cats, and a small number of other animals. Dogs and cats that remain unclaimed are seen by a veterinarian, bathed and groomed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered/spayed and then put up for adoption. The aim of adoption is to place the animal in the most compatible situations possible and ensure an appropriate match between pet and owner.
