ATS to Help Establish Human Capital Management Industry’s First Workforce Management Professional Curriculum and Certification

The Workforce Educational Organization (WEO) today announced that ATS, an Amano company has signed on as a Silver-level sponsor, becoming one of the non-profit organization’s significant contributors. ATS’s funding and position as a global provider of industrial biometric and non-biometric time and attendance terminals will support the WEO in creating the industry’s first workforce management (WFM) technology professional curriculum and certification.

The WEO is the first non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the understanding, utilization, and impact of time and labor management systems from an operational, strategic, and financial standpoint. Time and labor management includes timekeeping, scheduling, attendance and leave, data collection, reporting, and labor related analytics.

Larry Dawson from ATS made these comments about why ATS offered their sponsorship, “The WEO is an important organization and ATS is proud to be a sponsor. We are excited that our support will allow the WEO to educate and elevate the WFM professional. As an early sponsor of the WEO our goal is to help the organization build expertise in the industry with a foundational knowledge in the hardware, software, and user experiences that are critical to today’s employer. The WEO is needed in our field and will become an important enabler of WFM business solutions as well as a source of professional certification and training.”

The WEO will offer two levels of certification. The first, the Workforce Asset Management Professional (WAM-P) Certification, covers an array of time and labor management functional areas, offered through instructor-led online training and the Workforce Asset Management Book of Knowledge study guide. The WAM-P designation consists of an exam and oral interview and requires a minimum of three years’ on-the-job time and labor management experience. The second level of certification, the Workforce Asset Management Master (WAM-M) Certification, requires completion of designated continuing education unit courses and a thesis-like project. Both Professional and Master certifications are effective for three years and can be maintained by submitting four qualified Continuing Education Unit credits each year. Recertification (exam and project) is required every 10 years. The WEO’s current goal is to have as many as 3,000 professionals certified by the end of 2013.

Barry Rubin, the President of WEO, said "the additional sponsorship funds come at a good time as we work to complete the Workforce Asset Management Body of Knowledge manual, certification testing, training courses and complete the operational setup of WEO. The interest by companies like Accu-Time in providing sponsorship to WEO has been welcome and empowering as we work to complete our organization goals. Workplace professionals have long awaited their certification; their time is finally here!"
