“It’s important to share what we love to do. If we can all share our stories and our ‘natural highs’ I think it can help more than anything,” said Bokan.

His post-hardcore music is cutting edge. His schedule is filled with tour dates and appearances. But Beau Bokan, lead singer of the ambitious band Bless The Fall, finds time to share this powerful message with youth: it’s way cooler to live life on a Natural High. In partnership with Natural High, a San Diego-based national nonprofit organization, Beau is helping spark change across the nation and inspiring kids to say ‘YES’ to a natural high and ‘NO’ to drugs.
As it happens, Bokan is in good company. He is the 12th celebrity to appear in Natural High’s NaturalHigh.TV; an online film series that features celebrity messengers inspiring youth to discover, amplify, and pursue their natural high so they have a reason to say ‘NO’ to drugs. Other celebrities who have used their influence to help spread the Natural High message include: singer/songwriter Cassadee Pope, actress/fashion designer Lauren Conrad, and professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy.
Recently, Natural High and Bokan have reached youth across the country on Vans Warped Tour, the music and extreme sports festival. Given the stereotypes associated with the ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ lifestyle, Bokan understands the potentially positive influence musicians can have. With the band’s latest release, Awakening, Bokan hopes to cultivate a platform that engages his fans through powerful yet uplifting lyrics. Bokan noted how meaningful it is to hear fans tell him he inspired them to reject drugs and alcohol, “The fact that I can affect someone’s life that hugely and that positively is amazing, that’s what it’s all about.”
Recalling his own youth, Beau noted his natural highs included skating, going to the beach, basketball, and hockey. “I liked not worrying about an artificial high to feel good about myself,” Bokan shared. Maintaining that same attitude today, Bokan uses the music scene to empower his fans to express themselves. He encourages youth to use their voices to inspire their peers to pursue a natural high over drugs. “It’s important to share what we love to do. If we can all share our stories and our ‘natural highs’ I think it can help more than anything,” said Bokan.
