Hive Lighting Takes the 2012 Best in Lighting Technology Award from Cine Gear Expo.
Cine Gear recognized Hive for their revolutionary line of Plasma Lights: The Hornet Fresnel, Wasp Par, Killer Maxi 2 Light, and Drone Source Four Retrofit Kit. Hive exhibited it's full line of Plasma Production lights at the June 2012 Trade Show. Hive is proud to be in the company of this year’s other winners: Sony Electronics, Hollywood Vaults, K5600, Light Iron and Geo Film Group. Last year, Hive received an honorable mention in the Lighting Technology category when the company exhibited its early prototypes.
The 2012 Cine Gear Expo Technical Awards were presented to the best debuting products that were exhibited at Cine Gear and were available for the first time on the show floor. The winners were selected on site by a panel of Industry experts with an eye toward the latest in technology. The panel of judges evaluated only new products launched in the United States for the first time in 2012.
Says Robert Rutherford, President of Hive Lighting, “It's incredible to see so much support from the Los Angeles Film & TV production community. Cine Gear is our favorite show every year and it’s an honor to be recognized by a distinguished panel of our peers. We are thrilled to be bringing Plasma to the film industry.”
Cine Gear LA has always been an important event for the local Hollywood production community and Hive Lighting was excited to be a part of it again this year. Hive’s CTO, Jonathan Miller, and other notable exhibitors from Sony, Panasonic, Warner Bros., and MSE etc. discussed their favorite things about Cine Gear for this Production Hub video (http://www.productionhub.com/video/view.aspx?item=17942).
