Champaign-Urbana, IL (PRWEB) August 09, 2012
Car-X is proud to announce the second annual edition of the Car-X Crazy K, an obstacle-based 5K race aimed to help local charities. The race will take place at the Champaign County Fairgrounds and Crystal Lake Park in Urbana on September 8, 2012, and is expected to break the record for a single-day donation to Champaign-Urbana charities.
Organized by local Car-X owner Parham Parastaran and inspired by the Warrior Dash franchise, the Crazy K boasts a slightly more family-friendly course, encouraging all age groups to participate. For the young ones, there will be a kid zone complete with fun adventures and a Kid’s Fun Run starting at noon. Car-X has added a slew of new obstacles to challenge the adult participants’ fitness and training, including a Stockyard Stampede, a Mud Tarp Crawl, a High Stepper, a Spider Crawl, a Water Slide, a Muddy Trench, and many more.
While Car-X expects the race to be both fun and competitive, they are excited to announce that they have more than doubled the charities they are working with this year, and that participants will have the opportunity to decide which charity receives their registration fees.
This year’s race will take place in several flights, with the first one starting at 1 p.m., and the last one beginning at 5 p.m. Similar to last year’s event, there will be a post-race party at 5 p.m., complete with concerts, entertainment, and the announcement of the winners. There will also be food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available throughout the day.
The event is open to the public, so come on out to Champaign on September 8 and enjoy the fun. Support the area’s charities, get some cardio in for the day, and experience an event unlike any other. Have fun, go a little crazy and change some lives.
