FullCircle Announces $3 Million Investment By Greehey & Co.

FullCircle, a GeoSocial “Discovery” Network enabling mobile device users to identify and interact with other people and businesses based on their physical proximity, interests, and preferences, today announced it has closed a $3 million funding round. The round was led by Greehey & Company, Ltd., a firm with diverse global interests that include oil and gas exploration, as well as emerging technologies. FullCircle also announced it has moved into a new, expanded 5,000 square foot headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.

“The investment by Greehey & Co. allows us to rapidly grow membership, continue to develop innovative features in the areas of geofencing, location based streaming media and mobile geo-targeted advertising, and accelerate the launch of our coming suite of Microsoft-enabled services,” said Michael Hodge, founder and chief executive officer, FullCircle. “Consumers and businesses are looking beyond what existing mobile social networks offer, and we are now positioned to deliver a dynamic new model built around FullCircle’s GeoSocial Discovery Network.”

In 2011 FullCircle launched its GeoSocial Discovery Network that integrates location awareness with social networking – enabling its mobile app and web users to identify and interact with other individuals and businesses based on physical proximity, interests and preferences. FullCircle distinguishes its offering from existing mobile social networks by enabling users to easily create location aware groups or communities around areas of common interest, need or business services. From within these groups, members can identify other group members nearby, send a broadcast message to the group, and use mapping to observe group clusters, all with strong opt-in privacy protections.

For example, a Food Truck can create a group for its business, view the mapping feature to see where group members cluster, and use that data to decide which locations are optimal to station their truck on that day; Washington Redskins’ fans can create a group to help organize meeting spots before games; or the coach of a travel baseball team can create a private group for players (and parents) and use the GeoSocial feature to easily locate players while on the road for enhanced safety and well-being.
