Farnborough has outstanding transport links and a town centre that is going from strength to strength. Development of the area has been successful in attracting business start-ups.
Farnborough, UK (PRWEB UK) 5 August 2012
Farnborough’s economy is reaching record heights, with 224 new companies being set up in the first six months of 2012. This is the highest number of new companies for a first half year on record for the area, and shows a significant improvement of last year’s total of 193 for the same period.
Farnborough is famous for its links with the aviation industry and hosts the famous Farnborough Air Show each year. The town has its own airport for private business travel and a prestigious business centre adjacent to the terminal. The town is also close the M3 motorway and runs frequent services to London from its rail station, making it an ideal business location.
Redevelopment of the town centre began in 2007 and is ongoing today. The aim is “to create a vibrant shopping, leisure, service and employment centre which provides for the needs of the local community, local employees and local businesses.” The development has so far included consolidation of the main shopping areas, improvements to the rail station and expansion of the business park. Future developments will include expansion of the Princes Mead Shopping Centre, improved parking and a new multi-screen cinema.
