Let’s Go—the world’s favorite student travel guides, written entirely by Harvard undergraduates—launches its new and improved website, which seeks to expand the voice of student travel, and a line of mobile apps designed to help young explorers navigate their travels.

"Through our website, mobile apps, and guides, we have full intent in becoming the hub for student travelers," says Plana.

As students become smarter, faster, and more spontaneous travelers, Let’s Go Publications is revitalizing its digital presence to evolve alongside its readers. Let’s Go, the leader in student travel, recently launched a new website and a line of mobile apps designed and developed completely for students, by students. The new digital tools are designed for travelers seeking to make the most out of their time abroad while on a student budget.

For more than 50 years, Let’s Go’s content has been researched, written, edited, marketed, and managed by student travelers. With pen and notebook in hand, and a few changes of underwear stuffed in their backpacks, Let’s Go’s student researchers spend months roaming the globe in search of travel tips, bargains, and wisdom to share. Now with travelers bringing their smartphones and eReaders on the road, Let’s Go’s new website and mobile apps can be brought to their fingertips.

“Students are traveling to more places these days, and they are looking for ways to immerse themselves in the history, culture, and lives in the shorter periods of time that they are traveling,” said Sara Plana, Vice President and Publishing Director at Let’s Go. “Let’s Go travelers have always traveled off the beaten path, but with the new, they will have trusted information at their disposal to make the most of their experiences abroad.”

The new Let’s Go website, which launched today, seeks to expand the voice of student travel through student-written blogs, trip-planning profiles for travelers, and other recommendations generated for students, by students. Students can create detailed travel itineraries based on Let’s Go’s recommendations, document their travel memories, “like” their favorite restaurant or hostel, and—best of all—share all of this information with other students on the site.

Coming soon to accompany the new website will be the Let’s Go mobile app. Within the Let’s Go app, users will be able to access parts of their online profiles and view their pre-planned itineraries while on the road. Let’s Go has also launched a line of free Let’s Go Explore apps for the iPhone and Android for 25 cities (and coming soon for Nook). Each Let’s Go Explore app features five walking tours for the city, hand-picked by student travelers. The Let’s Go Explore apps are just teasers for the upcoming Let’s Go app, a full digital travel guide with thousands of listings and content from all of the Let’s Go guidebooks.

“Through our website, mobile apps, and guides, we have full intent in becoming the hub for student travelers,” says Plana.
