Zoomba Group’s Foodservice Equipment & Supplies Magazine Wins Acclaim with Multiple Awards from Two Different Publishing Competitions

Elmhurst, IL-based business publisher Zoomba Group sees flagship media property, Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine, win 8 awards from two separate national publishing competitions. This is the first time Zoomba has pursued any awards for its magazine.

Zoomba Group, a leading business publisher for the commercial food service market, announced that its flagship publication, Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine, has been recognized as a winner of eight awards of excellence from two different publishing industry competitions.

On July 31, the Trade Association Business Periodicals International (TABPI) presented Zoomba Group with three of its 2012 Tabbie Awards, including a national gold award for Best Use of Social Media. And on July 26, the American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE) presented Foodservice Equipment & Supplies (FE&S) with five Azbee Awards, including a 2012 National Gold Award for best opening spread design for the June 2011 article “Hall of Fame, Tom Schrack Sr., Hockenbergs.”

FE&S magazine has helped foodservice professionals to build brand awareness, enhance customer relationships, generate sales leads and launch new products since 1947. The three Tabbie awards FE&S received include:

Best Use of Social Media – Gold
Judging comments: "Very interactive use of social media tools. Content tone suits the audience perfectly and various formats are appropriately used across several social media platforms. The content is quirky, the interaction shows audience is engaged and the use of social media platforms to drive the content in traditional media platforms is inspiring."

Best Opening Spread – Silver for the June 2011 article “Hall of Fame, Tom Schrack Sr., Hockenbergs
Judging comments: "The spread has personality and it makes you smile when you look at it. The type treatment is wonderful! Nice layout!"

Best Cover – Honorable Mention for October 2011 “Classic Meets Modern: How Brasserie Jo Became Paris Club”

The Tabbies is an international awards competition among trade, association, and business magazines, sponsored annually by TABPI, in order to recognize excellence in trade, association and business publications. This year’s competition drew nearly 500 entries, with nominations coming from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, France, India, Singapore and South Africa.
