Belcarra Technologies, a leading developer of USB software and network solutions, announced today the addition of the RNDIS (Remote Network Device Interface Specification) protocol to its USBLAN driver suite.
Belcarra’s USBLAN driver suite is a popular and well-recognized implementation of the USB industry standard Communication Device Class networking solutions, implementing the CDC-ECM, CDC-EEM and CDC-NCM protocols and now Microsoft's RNDIS protocol. Optimized for high data throughput, the driver automatically recognizes the protocol offered by the device whether one of the CDC protocols or RNDIS. In addition USBLAN supports NDIS-5 and NDIS-6 and also 32 bit and 64 bit Windows Operating System versions. Multiple devices can be connected to a PC simultaneously.
The Belcarra RNDIS protocol implementation includes automatic link setup (via a built in DHCP server) and provision for jumbo frames (MTU) and aggregating frames, permitting greater USB bus occupancy and effective link speed.
“Including RNDIS in USBLAN allows those who prefer the RNDIS protocol over USB-IF alternatives to achieve the same goals but with greater flexibility and higher throughput” says Belcarra President Bruce Balden. "The addition of RNDIS gives USBLAN the most complete set of USB networking protocols available in a single driver product."
Belcarra Technologies (2005) Corp. provides comprehensive USB support for smart embedded devices and network driver support for a wide variety of systems, especially MS Windows, Mac OS/X and Linux.
