New York, NY (PRWEB) August 03, 2012
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have extended their "Wrecking Ball Tour" by an additional 16 dates due to overwhelming success during the first North American leg of their World Tour. The added concerts will get underway on October 19th in Ottawa, ON at Scotiabank Place and this leg of Bruce's tour will culminate in early December on the 6th in suburban Phoenix in Glendale at the Jobing.com Arena.
His "Wrecking Ball Tour" had its inaugural concert on March 19th at the Greensboro Coliseum. He had 19 gigs in the States and then he took the show across the pond and had shows in Europe in the cities such as Sevilla and Barcelona. His European leg of the "Wrecking Ball Tour" ended at the end of July in Helsinki, Finland. It has been reported that some of his largest concerts (in terms of venue and attendance) were overseas and some of his concerts went on for about 4 hours because Bruce loves his fans and always puts on a memorable show.
Springsteen will take a short hiatus to recover from his European leg and then he'll get back on the touring trail in mid August with a show at Fenway Park in Boston. Other stadiums that Bruce will be headlining at include Gillette Stadium, Wrigley Field, Citizens Bank Park and MetLife Stadium. Most of the shows from his original schedule sold out earlier so the additional shows should sell out quickly as well due to huge demand by fans to see an American legend perform live in concert.
The "Wrecking Ball Tour" is in support of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's most recent album by the same name. This album was released in early March and it ended up at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 the very first week. Nearly 200,000 "Wrecking Ball" albums sold in the first week alone according to Nielson Sound Scan. Bruce is in the top echelance for having albums that earned the Number 1 spot in the first week. Others who have achieved this distinction include the Beatles, Jay-Z and Elvis Presley.
Music critics feel that it is quite an accomplishment for an artist to remain popular for as many years as Bruce Springsteen has. Whenever he has a new album, his diehard fans both buy the album and see him in concert. His lyrics deal with real life and the ordinary man which is the reason he has such a wide and diverse fan base.
