The Los Angeles Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council has partnered with Green-Buildings.com and GreenStep Education to offer chapter members a 10% discount on the GreenStep LEED® Professional Project Experience Program.
The GreenStep LEED® Professional Project Experience Program is designed for green building professionals who are looking to go beyond the basics of sustainability to gain a deeper understanding of the LEED project certification process. The four week program offers access to a live LEED project to green builders who, due to location constraints or other factors, would otherwise be unable to work on a LEED project.
During the course of the program, each participant gets involved with LEED Online, learns the tools and systems involved with tracking specific credits and responsibilities, and contributes to the various LEED project requirements. Upon completion, participants will have a deeper level of understanding of the LEED certification process, the various LEED credit categories and how they affect a project.
"We developed this online program as a way for people to build the confidence and experience necessary for future professional development in the green building industry," said Alex Spilger, Founder of GreenStep Education.
Jorge Partida, Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter, said, "USGBC-LA is proud to participate in this program developed by GreenStep and Green-Buildings.com. By registering for this course, participants are able to obtain the necessary project experience required for the LEED Accredited Professional examination. As a service to our members and affiliates, USGBC-LA can now provide the often elusive LEED project experience with confidence, knowing that such experience is provided by an organization known for offering quality training and guidance. USGBC-LA is able to offer a 10% discount to our members who enroll.”
Daniel, a past participant in the GreenStep program, explained, "The GreenStep Professional Project Experience Program provided the hands on experience I needed to not only sit for the LEED AP BD+C exam, but also to apply to other LEED registered projects. Alex presented the material in a thorough and professional manner. He is well versed on all LEED rating systems. I am proud to say that the Professional Project Experience Program was an integral part in earning my LEED AP BD+C credential. Thank you GreenStep and Green-Buildings.com!”
As Partida said, “Move forward in your career! Get your LEED-AP and join us in transforming the sustainable, and green built environment.”
LEED professional credentials have become an important part of the growing green building and sustainability industries. Over 170,000 people have earned LEED credentials since the launch of the LEED credentialing system in 2001.
