When consumers go shopping for school supplies and other back-to-school season essentials, they may not think about the fact that they can get additional savings just for pulling out the right credit card at the cash register,” says Roman Shteyn
Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 06, 2012
As families get ready to send their children back to school, studies estimate that they will spend over $600 on each child, buying things like school supplies, new clothes, backpacks, and other necessities. Families who are working with a tight budget will be happy to hear that the finance website CreditLand.com has identified the very best credit cards consumers should use when paying for back-to-school shopping.
“When people go shopping for school supplies and other back-to-school season essentials, they may not think about the fact that they can get additional savings just for pulling out the right credit card at the cash register,” says Roman Shteyn, CEO and co-founder of CreditLand.com.
“These credit cards all offer great savings for families who want to get the most from their back-to-school spending. If consumers use them along with other promotions like back-to-school sales and coupons, they can increase their savings up to five percent more, on top of the savings offered in-store or with coupons.” Shteyn says his research team searched hundreds of credit card offers and picked the top three bank cards along with the top three store credit cards. “That way,” says Shteyn, “shoppers can get great savings no matter where they shop.”
Here are the CreditLand.com picks for best back-to-school savings:
Bank-issued credit cards:
#1: U.S. Bank Cash+™ Visa Signature® Card – Excellent credit card that gives unlimited five percent cash back at department stores; all card holders have to do is choose department stores as the desired cash-back category on the card by calling or logging in to the website. #2: American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card – The Blue Cash card gives three percent cash back at department stores and six percent cash back at grocery stores. “Many schools ask for items like paper towels and hand sanitizer that can be found at the grocery store,” explains Shteyn. “Customers should know that they can save more by purchasing these items at a grocery store instead of a drugstore or department store when using this card for back-to-school shopping.”
