RunStarter.org, the recently launched running blog delivers regular articles targeted specifically at new runners in an easy-to-navigate website format. With individual sections on topics such as training, health, gear and more, it aims to fill a need for beginner-specific information.
According to founder and editor Liam Moroney, "There is a wealth of information available online about running, yet there is little that caters to new runners. When learning the fundamentals myself, I found that I had to seek out the information from various websites to get what I needed, and even then it wasn't always easy to comprehend. There was no centralized location where new runners could go to get clearly explained information on topics relevant to them, so I decide to create one."
The website is still in its early stages with only a handful of articles, but Liam has big plans. "I would like it to become a valuable resource online for new and seasoned runners alike. In addition to regular articles, we are working on a variety of tools such as cheat sheets, race and club listings as well as additional websites and communities that runners can benefit from.". It also aims to connect with runners across a variety of mediums, using social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
Liam Moroney is an avid runner and member of the Van Cortlandt Track Club and New York Road Runners. Originally from Ireland, he now lives in the Bronx, New York.
