Well the answer is no drugs and no expensive treatments, and very little money would have to be spent.
Dr. Peter Schnohr and his associates from Bispebjerg University Hospital in Copenhagen have, over the last 35 years, been conducting a study on over 20,000 participants. They have just revealed that the participants who did a slow jog two or three times a week, could improve their life expectancy by at least 5 years.
Over the time of the study, 10,158 deaths occurred in the non-joggers, and only 122 in the joggers, and this resulted in a survival increase of 6.2 years for men, and 5.6 years for women.
And the interesting thing to come out of the study was that the best results came if the jogging was conducted at a slow pace. The aim is to be a little breathless, but not very breathless.
“The results of our research allow us to definitively answer the question of whether jogging is good for your health,” Dr. Schnohr concluded. “ We can say with certainty that regular jogging increases longevity. The good news is that you don’t actually need to do that much to reap the benefits.”
