100+ Fleet Operators to Meet in Brussels to Learn How to Make the Switch to Natural Gas Vehicle's
London (PRWEB UK) 8 August 2012
Over a hundred of Europe’s leading fleet operators, transport and logistics and forwarding companies will convene in Brussels this October 24-25 to take part in the Natural Gas Vehicle Summit a two day event focused on showing fleet operators how to make the switch to Natural Gas fuelled vehicles. Taking part as speakers in the conference will be a host of Europe’s leading NGV fleet adopters who have already transitioned all or part of their vehicles and trucks to run on CNG, LNG and Bio methane. Companies including Vos Logistics, UPS, Coca Cola, Simon Loos Logistics and Bayer will give extensive case studies on their experience with integrating Natural Gas fuelled vehicles into their operations and the benefits they have seen.
With the price of petrol and diesel continuing to rise, and the cost of compressed natural gas (CNG), biomethane and liquefied natural gas (LNG) falling in comparison, more and more
Fleet operators are becoming interested in NGVs.
Even when the units themselves come at a premium, operators can hope to pay back the extra cost from lower operating expenses. And then, of course, there are the environmental benefits – a key consideration for many European companies.
The catch is that NGVs face several practical obstacles before they can become more widely used. There is a lack of vehicle models currently, and prices remain relatively high. Europe lacks a comprehensive gas fueling infrastructure, especially for LNG. Operators currently have to develop their own fueling stations.
However with the release of the first factory built OEM trucks running on LNG, investment in broader infrastructure and increasingly supportive EU policy, the tide appears to be turning as demand from fleet operators in NGV vehicles soars.
