Freson Bros. IGA of Alberta, Canada to use FMS Solutions for its Financial Applications.

FMS Solutions has announced it is partnering with Freson Bros. IGA of Alberta, Canada. The Western Canadian chain joins over 2200 other retailers across North America currently serviced by FMS.

Freson Bros. opened its first store in 1955 and has grown to 15 stores across the province of Alberta, employing almost 1000 workers. In 2009, The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers awarded Freson Bros. the 2009 Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year award.

Says Shawn Gavigan, Freson Bros. Vice President of Finance, “Freson Bros. is proud to announce that it will be implementing the full suite of financial applications available from FMS Solutions. The decision to move to FMS was made based on their financial reporting and accounting applications being the most comprehensive, seamlessly integrated and grocery-specific package available for our grocery retail business. The FMS package is widely used among independent retailers and comes highly recommended by many of these retailers who have been long-time customers of FMS. We were also impressed with the depth of knowledge and commitment shown by the FMS team during the product investigation process.”

“We’re really excited for this partnership moving forward,” says Robin Thomas, FMS Solutions Key Account Executive of the West. “The opportunity to work with a reputable company like Fresons and expand FMS’s presence to Canadian grocers is tremendous. We know our ability to apply our financial expertise to their business is going to be great for both organizations.”

FMS Solutions provides approximately 2200 independent retailers with financial, accounting, and consulting services such as benchmarking, best practices, and mission-critical decision reports throughout North America.
