Kerns is a self-proclaimed “construction geek” and has a passion for helping contractors gain control of their projects and businesses through effective cost control and financial reporting. He is as comfortable on the job site as he is in the board room and draws upon 25-plus years of experience as a former chief financial officer, field accountant, and cost-control manager.
Prior to founding Construction Turnaround Consultants, Mr. Kerns served as an expert consultant at The Duggan Rhodes Group, a construction-claims consulting firm. His experience also includes serving as chief financial officer during the turnaround of a $60-million commercial and industrial electrical design and construction company.
Mr. Kerns is a certified construction industry professional and cost consultant. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Management and an M.S. in Public Policy and Management, both from Carnegie Mellon University. He is skilled in using various construction accounting software platforms and holds a copyright for an automated financial reporting model.
Following Mr. Kerns’ presentation, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
