Calgary, AB (PRWEB) August 28, 2012
Canadian triathlete and four-time Olympian, Simon Whitfield, today introduced Triton - an intelligent online system designed to make triathlon training accessible and affordable to all athletes.
Whitfield explained, “Athletes subscribe to the Triton training system at http://www.tritontriathlon.com by setting out their current skill level, race distance, and time available for training. The Triton training engine we have developed uses this information to produce a personalized online Workout Calendar for the athlete that includes daily workouts, along with a video illustrating how the workout is to be performed.”
As the workouts are completed, the athlete updates his or her Workout Log by rating the degree the workout was completed, the quality of the workout and the mood, sleep and general health of the athlete that day. The Triton training engine automatically adjusts the athlete’s Workout Calendar based upon these inputs. The Triton training engine also provides the athlete with an Event Readiness Gauge, which indicates on a bar graph how ready the athlete is to compete in each event he or she has chosen.
Triton is highly video-based, providing athletes with visual instruction on how to train and prepare for their race. Training videos, featuring Simon conveying what he has learned during his 18 years of triathlon competition, provide training tips on technique, nutrition, motivation, and race preparation and strategy.
“We felt it was important that the Triton engine produce simple and easy to understand training plans for any race distance, from Super Sprint to full Ironman. Whether users are novice, intermediate or advanced, Triton will provide them with affordable access to high quality triathlon training” said Whitfield.
Triton’s online training program is now available to the public. Users can sign up for a free trial at http://www.tritontriathlon.com.
