Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) is one of the first California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization (CalHIPSO) participants to receive EHR incentive payments for achieving Meaningful Use, following their successful implementation of MED3OOO’s InteGreat EHR. FHCN received more than a half-million dollars in incentive payments and was recognized by The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology as a leader in EHR implementation transitioning from paper to electronic health records. “This is no small accomplishment,” said Speranza Avram, CEO of CalHIPSO, the largest of 62 federally designated Regional Extension Centers (RECs), serving 56 of California's 58 counties. CalHIPSO helps more than 7,900 eligible providers such as FHCN transition to the use of electronic health records (EHRs) to achieve Meaningful Use under the Medicaid incentives programs.

“We spent a considerable amount of time investigating the right EHR choice for our community-based centers,” said Blanca Schmitz, Project Director for Information Systems of FHCN. “We selected MED3OOO’s InteGreat EHR because of its ease of use, as well as the expertise the MED3OOO team has in implementing the EHR in community healthcare centers and clinics of all sizes.”

“We had the opportunity to test numerous EHRs recommended by CalHIPSO. Hands down, each of us selected InteGreat for its ease of use, adaptability to workflows, and interoperability,” said Dr. Steven Palmer, FHCN.

“MED3OOO is pleased that FHCN was recognized by ONC,” said Scott Sanner, Executive Vice President of MED3OOO. “InteGreat EHR was chosen by FHCN for several reasons. It is certified by ONC, which of course is essential to satisfying Meaningful Use and to receiving incentive payments, and InteGreat is also very easy to implement and use. It also generates required documentation automatically¬¬¬–no extra action required–while the user is entering information.”

Under the HITECH Act, clinicians must demonstrate meaningful use of an EHR to qualify for the greatest Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Deploying a certified EHR such as InteGreat is the most efficient means of achieving Meaningful Use goals and compensation, particularly for providers in urban and rural communities.
