As we continue to develop Courses, we are intent on listening to our community to deliver the content that our users want, whether that means building the most requested Courses or allowing users to create their own on our Course Creation Platform
Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) August 07, 2012
Today, Course Hero, a leading provider of digital learning tools, announced the launch of its public Course Creation Platform and the addition of 18 new curated courses to its collection of free online courseware.
The Course Creation Platform is the newest feature of the company’s Courses product that enables anyone to build an engaging Course and publish it to the Course Hero website. By developing a step-by-step process for organizing content, delivering assessments, and incentivizing progress, Course Hero is providing subject matter experts in any field with an easy-to-use tool to teach the world.
While anyone is invited to create a Course, to ensure top quality only those approved by Course Hero will be published to the site. Course Hero will also continue to invite users to suggest improvements to all Courses at the concept, chapter and assessment level or request new Courses for future development. This scalable, crowd-sourced model enables the company to maintain updated, quality content within its Courses while expanding its offering to meet user demand.
“Subject matter experts take all forms which makes the crowd a powerful resource for fresh, high quality content,” said Course Hero CEO, Andrew Grauer. “By allowing anyone to create and deliver an engaging educational experience on Course Hero, our Course Creation Platform provides a scalable solution for continuously generating content that matches the interests of our users.”
Along with the Course Creation Platform, Course Hero released 18 new, curated courses to add to its current free online course catalog. The new set of Courses has been developed by the Course Hero team based on user feedback and expands Course Hero’s current Course offering into highly demanded subject areas.
“As we continue to develop Courses, we are intent on listening to our community to deliver the content that our users want, whether that means building the most requested Courses or allowing users to create their own on our Course Creation Platform,” said Grauer.
The majority of these Courses fall within the existing Entrepreneurship, Business and Web Programming learning Paths; however, the company also added several Courses outside of these disciplines—including Psychology, Pre Calculus, College Algebra and Constitutional Law-- given the number of requests from the community for Courses in these subjects.
