Providence Orthopaedics officially opened its doors to patients at the new Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre. Located in the heart of Novena with the train station, hotels, malls, and many health hubs all in close vicinity, it is a convenient location for both local and international patients.

Walk-in patients are welcome and will receive treatment from Medical Director Dr Siow Hua Ming, who specialises in sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive joint surgery, and general orthopaedic surgery which caters to both adults and children.

“We are glad to be able to provide prompt medical services to families and individuals, and more importantly, to able to offer our comprehensive treatment plans to address orthopaedic conditions. We aim to bring affordable specialised health care to people of all ages, to allow them a smooth return to an independent, quality lifestyle”, said Dr Siow.

The clinic specialises in minimally invasive “key-hole” surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. They provide treatments such as casting and orthopaedic surgery for bone fractures and soft tissue trauma, sports injuries and rehabilitation, degenerative joint problems, arthritis, reconstructive surgery for both adults and children, as well as joint replacement surgery. Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) injections and intra-articular injections are both commonly done in-house procedures offered at Providence Orthopaedics.

Clinic operating hours are from 9am to 6pm on Weekdays, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

About Dr. Siow Hua Ming – Providence Orthopaedics’ Medical Director
Dr Siow obtained his medical degree from the University of Glasgow, UK in 1996. He underwent basic and advanced surgical training in orthopaedic surgery in Singapore. He undertook a fellowship in Sports and Paediatric orthopaedic surgery in The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA in 2007-8.

Dr Siow joined KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKWCH) in 2007 as a consultant with the department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the only trained paediatric sports orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore and also treats general paediatric orthopaedic patients. He was also in charge of the adult orthopaedic programme in KKWCH. He joined Alexandra Hospital as the Director of Sports Medicine at Alexandra Hospital where he helped to expand the capacity and capability of the Sports Medicine & Surgery Centre. He was Adjunct Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in NUS, where he was actively involved in teaching medical students and being a medical examiner. Dr Siow was also the Associate Programme Director for the Orthopaedic Residency Programme of the National University Health System.

He has special interests in sports injuries and degenerative joint conditions and their surgical treatment in both the adult and paediatric populations. Dr Siow is accredited in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Mount Alvernia Hospital. He is also a visiting consultant to KKWCH.
