JAN VIVIAN BOOKS has released another short story compilation, of romantic fiction, in E-book format and it is available on Amazon or through the links on the author’s website. Other titles, in paperback or E-book format, can also be found there. The story lines can be racy, thoughtful and are set in different locations and often depart from established, or conventional, ways of thinking.

JAN VIVIAN BOOKS is the outlet for Jan Vivian, a self-published author of general and romantic fiction. The story lines may often reflect upon what has been read in the newspapers or observed during his travels. An event may spark the imagination leading to stories that may be set in the United Kingdom or in a place recently visited or recalled.

Romantic fiction comes in many guises. Jan Vivian chooses to find the deeper significance in relationships and writes, usually, about two main characters only. Others feature but do so in support of the book’s story leads. Settings and historical time periods are of interest but they are confined to the modern day, or post 1900.

The story lines in these human tales vary enormously – a New York Mayoral election and a stolen family bequest are at the centre of one book; the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami features in a short story and Thailand is the setting for restoring two people’s shattered lives; a ballerina is soon to retire but travels to New Zealand and meets a man who has suffered bereavement; a Florida shopkeeper catches a shop-lifter and decides to forgive him, in return for a personal favour; a stained glass artist restoring the windows of St Jans Kerk in Gouda shines a particular and revealing light on a woman whose marriage is in trouble; a Lottery winner is intent on doing good deeds with her fortune but has to persuade her husband of her right to do so…

The possibilities are endless and Jan Vivian seeks to explore them. His preference is to write novellas or short stories but that may again change. For now, the latest stories have been collected and published on the web only in ‘Love Is No Stranger’.
