Wayne, PA (PRWEB) August 07, 2012
SkillSurvey®, Inc. has announced that over half of the hospitals listed in the Best Hospitals Honor Roll for 2012-2013, published by U.S. News & World Report, are subscribers to SkillSurvey®’s Pre-Hire 360® reference-checking software.
This year, only 17 of the nearly 5,000 evaluated hospitals qualified to be listed on the Honor Roll. Of those 17 recognized, 59-percent (ten) are clients of SkillSurvey® and use its Pre-Hire 360® software to help guide their hiring processes in human resources. The ten institutions are: Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Duke University Medical Center, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University Health, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCSF Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, UPMC, and the top-rated Massachusetts General Hospital.
“There is an important link between the quality of a hospital’s job applicants and their excellence in clinical performance and patient satisfaction,” said Ray Bixler, president and CEO of SkillSurvey®. “We believe that a large part of recruiting excellence comes from analyzing direct feedback from references. Our solution provides our clients with insights from references about the behaviors of their job candidates, and how these behaviors might impact clinical delivery and HCAHPS scores.”
Pre-Hire 360® automates the process of gathering input from a job applicant’s references by using behaviorally-based surveys delivered over an electronic platform. The surveys delve into a candidate’s strengths and developmental needs, as borne out on the job. Confidential input from managers, peers, subordinates and business partners provides a multi-dimensional view of the candidate’s past performance. The system overcomes the usual reticence of former employers because they are released from legal liability and their feedback is confidential.
Leading hospitals that use Pre-Hire 360® also benefit from having large pools of candidates in waiting through the passive candidate database, which is a database consisting of references who would like to be kept informed of future openings. It grows exponentially as references themselves opt-in to be kept informed, and is a productive way for employers to build a network of “warm” leads - prospects who will welcome further contact.
The 17 hospitals on the list, most of them household names, excelled across a broad spectrum of patient care, scoring near the top in at least six medical specialties.
