"We want to deliver continuous quality to our users in the most effective manner. To achieve that goal, together with XBOSoft, we have set up a maintainable automation framework.”

XBOSoft, a fast-growing software quality assurance services company, together with leading financial close software provider BlackLine Systems, is hosting a webinar in which they will discuss lessons learned and best practices on how to set up test automation and performance testing for software that is delivered in a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model. The webinar will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. PDT.

Donna McCollum from BlackLine Systems and Philip Lew from XBOSoft will discuss the QA and testing strategies they devised and implemented to assure that BlackLine’s account reconciliation software reaches the quality objectives of its users.

The webinar will be moderated by Alan Trefzger, senior quality consultant at XBOSoft. “It is interesting to hear best practices from people with such deep first-hand experience in the field,” says Alan.

“If you are supporting software that is delivered via a SaaS model, you cannot afford to skimp on regression testing. In today’s fast-paced environment, at BlackLine, we decided, automation was the only option to stay ahead of the curve. But automation is not everything; we want to deliver continuous quality to our users in the most effective manner. To achieve that goal, together with XBOSoft, we have set up a maintainable automation framework,” says Donna.

Phil adds “With BlackLine’s software offered in a SaaS environment, performance is another key issue because users expect the software to behave as if it was installed on their desktop. In order to achieve this, we developed performance benchmarks combined with periodic performance tests to monitor the performance of the software under various scenarios. The data we gather from these tests is used to further improve the performance.”
