Seasoned Education Technology Executive to Enhance Brand Awareness for Akademos

Akademos, Inc., a leading provider of integrated online bookstores and marketplaces for educational institutions, announced today that it has hired Ingrid Ramos Nakamura as Vice President of Marketing.

With more than 15 years of experience in marketing, advertising and product management, Ramos Nakamura brings a deep level of higher education marketing expertise to Akademos, including experience at venture-backed companies. Prior to joining Akademos, she served as the marketing director for EducationDynamics, where she focused on outreach to brick and mortar as well as online colleges and universities. She has also held marketing positions at ConnectEdu and GoalQuest.

In her position, Ramos Nakamura will be responsible for the direction of the overall Akademos brand, marketing and outreach to institutions, and enhancement of direct-to-student marketing on Akademos’ Textbookx.com e-commerce site. She will also serve as product lead for the Akademos Textbook Adoption Tool, a comprehensive online portal for faculty to compare textbooks based on key metrics such as quality, peer reviews and affordability.

Ramos Nakamura holds a B.A. in English from Boston College and a Professional Publishing Certificate from Stanford University.
