Palos Hills, IL (PRWEB) August 08, 2012
On Monday, Aug. 6, MidAmerica Hand to Shoulder Clinic and MidAmerica Orthopaedics launched its website written in Polish.
The physicians of MidAmerica want to make information accessible to the large number of Polish citizens living in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
The website is now written in three languages: English, Spanish and Polish.
“We have a website that’s rich in content with patient education and resources, videos about procedures, workers compensation and more,” said Anton Fakhouri, M.D., a hand and upper extremity surgeon with MidAmerica Hand to Shoulder Clinic and MidAmerica Orthopaedics. “With the large Polish population living in and around Palos Hills, we felt it important to offer this information to more than just English speaking people.”
In the years following World War II, Polish Americans made up a large part of the countless families moving into Chicago’s suburbs especially Palos Hills, Oak Lawn and Hickory Hills. In fact, 16.4 percent of the population of Palos Hills consists of people born outside of the United States.
The languages spoken by people in the Palos Hills area are also diverse. These are tabulated as the languages people preferentially speak when they are at home with their families. The most common language spoken in Palos Hills is English; however, other important languages include Polish, Greek and Spanish.
The highly skilled physicians and staff of MidAmerica Hand to Shoulder Clinic and MidAmerica Orthopaedics provide patients the most up-to-date diagnostic and treatment modalities. Locations include Palos Hills, Mokena, Oakbrook Terrace, Schaumburg and Libertyville.
