Darcy Vasquez is the newest member to join the staff at Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute in Prescott, Arizona. After working in the accounting industry for 20 years, Darcy has continued her education at Yavapai College, and will be receiving her certificates in Health Information Management and as a medical coder next month. “I am delighted to begin a new career in the medical field at Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute and know I can contribute to the business by bringing my computer and accounting skills to help with billing and marketing,” notes Darcy.

At Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute, we offer a full line of antiaging procedures to turn back the hands of time. Clients recognize the expertise that Robin Fleck, MD, medical director of Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute and Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics brings to bear on the problem of premature aging of the skin. Body Oasis Medi Spa features laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, laser resurfacing for aging skin, laser lipolysis and laser spider vein treatments. As a result, the numbers of cosmetic visits to these two facilities have risen in the past few months.

Xeomin and Botox are used to weaken overactive muscles that cause wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. When the muscle is treated with these neuromodulators, it begins to decrease in size and collagen begins to fill in the wrinkles, gradually eliminating them.

Radiesse volumizing filler is a versatile injectable cosmetic used to fill the age lines around the client’s mouth and nose, and hollows on the cheeks under the eyes that cause dark circles. It is a solution that provides immediate results, so it’s sometimes called the ‘liquid face lift”. Another dermal filler, Perlane, is used to augment thin lips, providing a younger-looking appearance in just 20 minutes.

The Active FX fractional laser is another anti-aging treatment offered at Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics Medical Spa. The treatment effectively erases wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, and sagging eyelids in a painless ten-minute procedure. Facial skin, neck, chest and even hands can be rejuvenated to look five years younger.

The Accusculpt laser lipo procedure for treatment of double-chin and a “jowly” look has been added to the antiaging armamentarium in the past few months. “Our patients are enthusiastic about this nonsurgical laser procedure to help them look younger without a facelift,” comments Darcy.

Spider vein sclerotherapy is a frequently sought procedure offered at Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics MediSpa. In a few sessions, unsightly veins can be removed safely and permanently. Spider veins may signal a more serious vein disorder, especially if leg pain or swelling is noted. Vein Specialties offers free vein consultations to determine if additional evaluation is warranted. This investigation may be covered by insurance.

Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute will soon be adding a laser that safely and effectively treats toenail fungus without the need for toxic drugs, and is investigating the addition of another laser technology that treats hair loss in men and women caused by androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata.
