As the modern American family continues to evolve, author Cheryl J. Trago remembers simpler times in her new memoir, “The Legacy: Family is Everything” (published by iUniverse).

Trago’s motivation for penning “The Legacy” is simple: she wants readers to appreciate the strength and importance of family bonds, so she shares her childhood experiences in this coming-of-age tale that emphasizes love, integrity and family values.

Growing up, Trago didn’t know much about her family’s history, so “The Legacy” is her way of ensuring that her descendents will have a handy resource that illuminates a bygone era, one that Trago fondly recalls in a series of vignettes that readers from all walks of life will be able to relate to.

Raised in a generation that was brought up to overcome obstacles through hard work and determination, Trago aims to bring those same values to younger readers:

“Travel with me down memory lane, where you may recall fond memories of your own. As I share the details of the life my folks had, their insights, and their way of coping with everyday problems, you will ultimately discover the strength of bonds that families forged. You will find this truth: family is everything.”

“Learn the values my parents taught my siblings and me,” Trago says. “I think you’ll be surprised.”
