The official “Purveyors of Yumm” are at it again. The team behind Sugar and Plumm officially announced the opening of a second location, this time on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at the northeast corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 78th Street.
Sugar and Plumm is an exceptional and magically decorated restaurant and sweet shop. The seamless all-encompassing eatery will please your palate with menu items that are both flavorful and satisfying. Currently, this flagship bistro, baker and chocolatier resides in Paramus, New Jersey. The uniquely decorated café is a hit amongst its New Jersey clientele and New Yorkers will now have the opportunity to indulge in the pioneering savory menu and sweet delights that Sugar and Plumm is so famous for.
Sugar and Plumm caters to both children and adults with sophisticated yet fun entrees and whimsical décor, including a candy-inspired mosaic on the back wall. There is no denying that Sugar and Plumm is the most exceptional in what they have to offer. The savory and sweet experts have covered all points in hospitality from convenient locations, A-plus service, fun furnishings and the large variety of delectable food that has been cooked and baked to absolute perfection. In addition to a vast assortment of sweet treats, S&P features a fish special every day, along with chicken, steak, classic soups, salads and much more.
The exciting atmosphere and unsurpassed savory and sweet offerings were dreamed up by Lamia Jacobs, owner of Sugar and Plumm. Originally a very successful oil trader in France, Jacobs left her career and life behind in Paris in order to pursue her dream in America. As a mother of four, Jacobs instantly recognized the need for family friendly eateries in the United States. “Sometimes you go to a place and it’s a beautiful design and the food is OK," she said. "I wanted a spot that was nice and clean, with good food that is not expensive, and fun. A place where parents could come and eat and kids could have fun."
It’s rare to find such a multifaceted bistro that has perfected each aspect of food. Whether you are handpicking your cravings from the sweets counter, or enjoying a savory meal, or maybe even indulging in a meal that marries the two (like Sugar and Plumm menu favorite Chicken and Waffles with sides of hot sauce and syrup), you are sure to get set your taste buds on something exceptional in flavor.
“I think Manhattan will get the same package and experience,” says Steven Ferdinand, Executive Chef of Sugar and Plumm. “You have to have a respect for the business. It takes organization, discipline and passion. I feel S&P brings the complete package for a family a wonderful whimsical experience, a great spot for the kids while the parents can have a wonderful sustainable meal.” New Yorkers are in for a real treat with the opening of Sugar and Plumm’s second location opening in a mere few weeks.
